Wild Card — Ben Baldus

Ben Baldus has won more than $260,000 in reining, reined cow horse and ranch versatility competition. He has been a finalist at multiple National Reining Horse and National Reined Cow Horse Association aged events.

Riding Seven S Woodrow, in 2018 he clinched his second American Quarter Horse Association World Championship in open versatility ranch horse. He won his first AQHA world title in the same event riding My Boots Are Tuff in 2014. During 2017, he was the leading open rider in ranch horse competition and ranks 2nd among all-time leading ranch versatility money-earners, according to Equi-Stat.

Baldus began showing at age 12. He was introduced to reining and cow horse competition while working for the historic Waggoner Ranch in Electra, Texas. After several years there, he and his wife, Cameron, established their own business in 2016, training performance horses and conducting horsemanship clinics. They are based in Bowie, Texas.
