Road to the Horse announces New Wild Card Competition in 2015

Designed to showcase gifted clinicians who have the talent to capture a Colt Starting title, the Road to the Horse 2014 Wild Card Competition has been an overwhelming success. The competition has allowed fans from around the world to follow the Wild Cards and their talented colts, from the time the colts ran wild in the AQHA Remuda from the 6666 Ranch during Road to the Horse 2013, to the time they will return to compete head to head at Road to the Horse 2014. The Road to the Horse 2014 Wild Card Competition will conclude at Road to the Horse 2014 but it has already been so successful that Road to the Horse Owner/Producer Tootie Bland announced that fans will be able to enjoy another Wild Card Competition at Road to the Horse 2015. In addition, Bland announced that the application process for the Wild Card Competition in 2015 will open shortly.

Road to the Horse 2015 Wild Card competitors will begin their journey at Road to the Horse 2014, where they will each select  a colt from the AQHA Remuda from the 6666 Ranch. Each Wild Card will then return to Road to the Horse 2015 where they will compete against each other to see who will take the title of Wild Card 2015 Champion. The winner of the Wild Card 2015 Competition will then receive an invitation from Road to the Horse to compete at a future Road to the Horse world event.

“We know there is an abundance of talent in the horsemanship world,” says Bland. “The time has come to recognize all of the great horse trainers and present them with the opportunity to become the next World Champion.”

Road to the Horse 2014 Wild Card competitor James Cooler said the competition has changed his life. “The Wild Card competition has not only changed my life it has expanded my career and brought an amazingly talented horse into my life. The Road to the Horse Team has been amazing to work with and I feel so connected to the industry I love. It’s been a challenging journey but every step has been worth the effort” Cooler states.

Applicants for the Road to the Horse 2015 Wild Card Competition will be asked to apply online at www.RoadtotheHorse.com. Successful applicants will be announced prior to the 2014 event and will be required to attend Road to the Horse 2014 to select their colt.

Road to the Horse fans will see the very first Wild Card Competition conclude during Road to the Horse 2014. The winner of the Wild Card 2014 Competition will step directly into the round pen to compete for the World Championship of Colt Starting 2014 title and will be joined by Antoine Cloux of Switzerland, Jonathan Field of Canada and Dan Steers of Australia.
