2022 Wild Card Hosts, Entertainers and Guests

Hosted By

Host – Matt West has proudly hosted Road to the Horse since 2013, and most commonly heard as the event announcer for the PBR Unleash the Beast tour. He has been part of 12 PBR World Finals, announced The American Rodeo, and been heard in iconic venues such as Madison Square Garden, AT&T Stadium, and The Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Horseman’s Host- Dan James has held many titles at Road to the Horses as a past Champion, competitor, and entertainer. Fans have been intrigued with the roman-riding Australian horseman since Road to the Horse 2012 and he has continued as a staple in the Road to the Horse lineup. 

Guest Clinicians

Mike Major – Road to the Horse 2022 World Champion, raised the son of a cattleman and best known for his success with his “stik” horses where he continues to see success in both the AQHA and Stock Horse of Texas show arenas. Mike is excited to bring his 6666 Ranch gelding ‘Yellowhouse Canyon’ to use during his clinic. 
Ben Baldus– Past Road to the Horse Wild Card and successful Reining, Reined Cow Horse, and Ranch Versatility trainer that shows NRHA, NRCHA, RHAA and AQHA money earners at major events such as the Futurity, Derby, National Reining Breeder’s Classic and World Show.

Entertainers

Templeton Thompson is a Nashville singer, songwriter, and lifelong horse girl that has written songs that have been recorded by multi-million selling artists like Reba McEntire, JoDee Messina, Little Texas and more.
Caitlin Holtzman is the Champion of the International Liberty Horse Association’s Invitational Freestyle event at Road to the Horse in Kentucky in March 2022.
Lonestar Cowgirls of Texas is a mounted drill team who ride flashy paint horses in sparkling red/white/blue costumes. The cowgirls travel all over the state of Texas performing at rodeos, parades, and special events.
